This city borders Turkmenistan in the north and east, Mashhad city in the west, and Torbat Jam and Freeman cities in the south. This city is located in latitude 36 degrees to 36 degrees 40 minutes and longitude 60 degrees 30 minutes to 61 degrees 15 minutes. The natural boundaries of the fern area in the south of the Kashf River. To the east of the Tejn River, to the west and southwest are the heights of Kepe Dagh. The city of Sarkhes is located in the plain of the same name, whose general slope is from south to northeast and from west to east. It is located at a distance of 40 kilometers from the center of Sarkhes in the south. And in the west, there are heights called Gurzmeh Shorlaq and Chale Zard, and after that, the heights of Mazdooran, which is the extension of the Hazar Masjid mountain range, and a part of its peak is more than 3200 meters high. The further we go from the Fern Plain to the north, we will reach low points, in addition, in the region and the adjacent areas of some of its settlements, many earthen hills can be seen, the height of which reaches about 30 to 50 meters.
